My vacation is drawing to an end but yesterday we visited a zoo called Ouwehands Zoo here in the Netherlands. I'd never been there before but it's a lovely zoo to visit. It is however located right in the middle of the woods, this is great, but makes taking pictures a lot more difficult!

This is a photo of an African lion. The first time we walked past these they were all sleeping far away in the shadows, not really photo worthy. So, before we went home we walked back and there he was, lying there as if he were the sungod himself.

The lion has a great proud expression and colouring that contrasts well to the background. However to me the half lion half background composition seems a little less dynamic than the rest of your shots.

I agree with you that it is very centered, but it needed "looking room" and I didn't have more room for the right hand side, all I could've done was shorten the right side, but that just didn't look right either. Chosing between two evils I suppose.
