In my last journal I spoke about my partner and I starting our own company. It's coming along well, already having two clients without even having really started. Our starting date is June 1st, one day before my birthday. But there is still so much left to do!

My partner has decided to code everything himself, accounting, relation management, billing et cetera. Of course this will definately benefit us in the long run and it's cheaper than buying it. The downside is that it takes a LONG time to do! And because I've already designed how this should all look, I'm basically just sitting around now waiting for him to finish all of it. I do have things left to do though, but it's not coming along very well.

Next week my mother in law has a gallery opening (she's an artist) and we'll also be there promoting our business, we made her website as well as hosting it, so she invited us. I need to make and print flyers before then (May 23rd) but I've never designed a flyer before. I've made a concept, but I'm not sure it's really "the one". Another thing I need to sort out is the look of invoices. I know what I want them to look like, but getting Acrobat to make it look the same as in my mind, is proving harder than I'd hoped.

Time is just flying by! In another two weeks it will be June 1st and we should start Octoris properly, let's hope we get off to a good start! I could certainly use the work, as my day job is proving to be more boring by the day since HP took over EDS last year. More and more people are leaving/getting fired and it's leaving me with very little to do. Not to mention it's very uncertain if we can even stay come January of next year. So help me in hoping that Octoris will do really well and that I can quit my day job to do this full time!
